The moriarty hat ski - Gem。1970’s vintage handmade wool ski hat from the Moriarty family in Vermont for Beconta (more limited). These started in 1956 from the Moriarty Grandma who made her son a ski hat to wear because he was going to be a skier in the Winter Olympics. They took off from there and became an icon! The family still makes custom hats or does collaborations with retailers under their new name M3 which stands for 3 generations of Moriarty’s. They are making some for the upcoming Winter Olympics! This is such a cool story that I had to share. This hat is in excellent vintage condition. It was my aunt’s from the 70’s and I’ve recently had fun picking out some fun groovy pieces of hers- some to keep and some to share like this one. I’m sharing where it’s from because sometimes I get sketched out by hats from thrift shops. This hat is clean and I know where it’s from- I don’t even think she wore it much. Look at the trim! Yes- it’s as cute as it looks!! It’s like 3D (if that makes sense) Brown and pink with the iconic Moriarty peak. Ready to be rocked on the slope or just watching the Olympics. ?
