1850s Victorian HAT STYLE ~ Purple Velvet Brim W/pink Satin 。This luxurious purple felt hat is another proof of the fabulous fashions of the 1950s\'! The crown is round and surrounded by a short downturned brim that is shaped in a scallop pattern. The amazing long, curled feathers are the astounding feature of this hat. There is a small, gold brooch with purple stones that resemble amethysts (but are imitation). Throughout the 1950s, ladies wore hats daily as a part of their attire as was a pair of gloves. To preserve its market, the millinery industry set about creating variety and extravagance. They were now touted as the essential accessory to complete the ensemble. Label: Union Made + numbers Please keep in mind that you are buying a vintage hat, not new nor perfect! This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Feathers, straw, furs, flowers & veils are fragile, given their age. Mannequin not for sale.
